Updates on Respiratory Illnesses in United States

This week, Canadian vaping advocates pressed Dr. Chris Mackie of the Middlesex London Health Unit to release vital product information that the patient was using.  After a week of refusal, he finally publicly released information that the product was purchased online from the United States and that the diagnosis was lipoid pneumonia, which traditional eliquids cannot cause due to the absence of fats/oils in these products.  Once again, this points to illicit THC carts from the United States, clearing up the confusion that ignited mass hysteria in Canada.

The following news article from the Metro Times posted today reflects the latest news whereby the CDC is now more formally acknowledging the role of illicit THC cartridges in the recent outbreak.

As always, you can read it right at the source from the official CDC website as well for the hard numbers and current recommendations.

Of note are the following from the CDC:
"The latest findings from the investigation into lung injuries associated with e-cigarette use, or vaping, suggest products containing THC play a role in the outbreak."
"If you are an adult who used e-cigarettes containing nicotine to quit cigarette smoking, do not return to smoking cigarettes."
